ChocoRite is a low-carb candy manufacturer, from whom I was recently able to try a few of their Low Carb Candy Bars. They also produce chocolate bars, protein bars and protein shakes, but in this article I’ll be discussing three of their low-carb candy bars; the Chocolate Crispy Caramels, Chocolate Covered Caramels, and Peanut Butter Cup Patties. In total, there are eight different milk and dark chocolate varieties.

Smart Sweets is a candy manufacturer currently offering five really amazing gummy candy products; Sweet Fish, Sour Blast Buddies, Peach Rings, Gummy Bears, and Sour Gummy Bears. These candies are the closest to what you would expect from similar sugar candies that I’ve found yet, and have a satisfying, stick-to-your-teeth, squishy gummy texture. They’re currently my go-to candy when I want a fruity treat.

Magic Spoon Cereal
I have tried many different low-carb and keto-friendly breakfast cereals and granola in search of a comparable experience to that of cereals you would find on the shelf at your local grocery store, and until now, none of them have delivered like Magic Spoon has. Magic Spoon cereals both taste and feel like normal, crunchy, carbohydrate-rich sugary cereal… except that they aren’t.

Sucralose is an artificial sweetener, and while I generally prefer products that use natural sweeteners, if I need to use an artificial one, sucralose is one of my favorites for a variety of reasons.
KeDough Bakery Chocolate Frosted Donuts
I recently discovered a keto-focused food website called KetoFridge which carries a number of keto-friendly products, including a chocolate frosted donut marketed under their KeDough Bakery brand. Keto-friendly baked goods that are done well are extremely hard to find, so I had to give these a shot and see for myself. Surprisingly, these donuts were pretty delicious and also had a fairly accurate baked good feel in the mouth, feeling much like a cake style donut. The chocolate frosting had a slightly gritty, made-from-sugar-granules feel as well, which overall made these to be very satisfying donuts.

Diabetic Kitchen Gourmet Chocolate Brownie Mix
One of my favorite sweet treats are brownies. And I don’t mean fluffy chocolate cake taking the form of a little square, I mean dense, chewy, fudgey brownies. I have tried countless low-carb, diabetic, and sugar-free brownie mixes and have been sorely disappointed… until now. They still are not quite the consistency of a real brownie made with sugar, however the Gourmet Chocolate Brownie Mix from Diabetic Kitchen produces the closest approximation that I’ve found by a pretty wide margin.

After ChocZero changed their recipe (see updated post here), I decided to try and find some other sources of keto-friendly chocolate and came across SKINNYme. They don’t have as many options as ChocZero and unfortunately no milk chocolate (my favorite) but I decided to give them a try anyway as they have a free trial. They describe their chocolate as “Zero Sugar, Low Calorie, Low Net Carb Dark Chocolate”.

Are you addicted to sugary sweet soda but are trying to maintain a ketogenic diet? If so then your options are slim. Most major brands make diet and more recently zero calorie options, but BEWARE of these as nearly every one that I’ve investigated uses aspartame as its artificial sweetener. The next best thing that I’ve found to satisfy a soda craving is flavored sparkling water, and thus far the best tasting of these that I’ve found is definitely Sparkling ICE.

I discovered this little gem a while ago and it seems to be the sweet treat that surprises most people when they find out that it is low in carbohydrates.
For a very long time I was in search of a low-sugar or sugar-free chocolate that didn’t taste… off. That wasn’t gritty in the mouth. That actually tasted and felt like chocolate. I tried various big candy brands’ sugar-free options but these mostly used sugar alcohols so I was unable to eat more than a piece or two at a time (see my article on sugar alcohols for why). Then I found ChocZero and my ketogenic life changed forever. Continue reading “ChocZero”
